Breaking the Blocks

Writer's block is supposedly a mental condition associated with professional writers that acts as a barrier to start their career. Well this is applicable to not-so-professional bloggers as well and this exactly is the very reason why many of us are slow at starting a blog. I believe there is no such thing as “a writer’s block”. It is clearly a mistaken condition that should remain merely theoretical that people had bestowed upon themselves as a curse without their knowledge. Believing such a thing exists is the very reason why it does. The realization of this alone is enough for one to break whatever that is limiting him/her from laying fingers on a keyboard. I woke up this morning feeling the same as every day and suddenly realized that I’m wasting my leisure on basically nothing and decided to write it off. This is how I came to where I am now: blogging. Now, coming back to William Goldman’s famous quotation, it is true professional writing after all is never easy. One has to transform simple writing, expression of your thoughts into a quality format of class and high standards to attain this state of professionalism. That is when it gets tricky they say. One has to master the art of writing; this is when creativity comes in effect of its inevitable role. A professional writer has the must to present his thoughts in a way so as to attract readers. And yet nothing is impossible, everything starts small; every marathon starts with a single step ahead. Anyone willing to be professional writers can harness their prevailing talent with repeated exercises and a little research.

This is my very first blog post; and I hope I did good reaching out to whoever is reading this and illustrated my point so that it'd be seen the way I see it in my mind. Previously I was very reluctant towards blogging till an important person in my life said, "Wait to be inspired", strange yet amazing how that was all the inspiration I needed to start this blog. Expression is a human right, and my will is to put mine to good use. Anyone is welcome to comment, positive or negative, which would certainly help me on my way to the top.

William Goldman, an American novelist, once said that “the easiest thing to do on earth is not writing”. Well this, by all means, is well accepted, but I pray to disagree momentarily. Writing is a form of expressing yourself; and self-expression is amongst our basic human traits. As human beings, we are naturally gifted with the talent of communication and the right of expression. The ability to write is neither magical nor special as it is generally overrated. Anyone with a will to express themselves can become writers. All you have to do is take out a pen and a paper, sit down, connect your mind to the ink and just let it flow. Let the thoughts be silly, senseless or hardly readable, yet those are your thoughts, expression is an art that needs no creativity when kept simple.
